The Wizzard of Oz - Teatr Lalka

The production of The Wizzard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, directed by Jarosław Kilian, is a tale of utopia infused with bitterness, and also of the reality revealed by the actions of the orphaned Dorothy.

The heroine’s determination and courage, and above all love, may inspire or change the lives of the beings she meets on her way who lack faith and feelings. The Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman, separated from their own hearts, wander in the dark, fearfully seeking the way to truth. The girl leads them on a journey to Emerald City, desiring healing for them and happiness for herself. Will she manage to expose an illusion, a hoax and a lie? Will the friends free their desires, look deep into their souls, make their dreams come true, gain awareness, and mature? Will innocence, fragility and authenticity become the driving force for transformation?

The performance is accompanied by the interdisciplinary workshop for children “On the Way Home.”
