Duration: 60 minutes

Premiere: June 13, 2016
A storehouse of wartime reconstructions—memories of those who survived and want to talk about the war—a collection of children’s stories. Seemingly ordinary stories and equally ordinary children who still want to play, laugh a lot, dream. But only on the surface. They are children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of war. Children whose nostrils are full of the smell of gunpowder, and whose ears reverberate with the detonation of homes.
My Name Is War is a collage of their stories. Here we meet, among others, Włodek, a little Warsaw insurgent; Ursula, a German girl whose father died during the First World War; and Nabu, who fled from her burning village. They share a constant fear for their future and a will to fight for survival. Should it be that way? Must they fall victim to battles of adults?
Apprentices of the art of puppetry seek answers to these questions by charging an unassuming old woman with the task of coming to terms with a bitter history.
Show for adult audiences.
Guest performance by graduates of the Department of Puppet Theatre Arts at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw.
