Divine Comedy - Teatr Lalka
Divine Comedy
Premiere: December 4, 2021
Premiere: December 4, 2021
To mark the 700th anniversary of the death of the Italian poet, Teatr Lalka invites audiences on a journey through the Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise, where the contemporary lost Everyman faces the challenges and dangers of the world around us.
The metaphysical and philosophical perspectives sketched in the work by Dante take on a particular relevance today, “in a time of plague.” The adaptation by Jarosław Mikołajewski, a kind of reportage from the underworld, conveys the themes of the work. Virgil will not be our only guide through the burnt woods of the Inferno, the glaciers of Purgatory, and the green hills of Paradise. Music by Grzegorz Turnau and songs performed by the actors will keep us on the path.
Project co-financed by funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund, as part of the Artistic Events for Children and Youth programme.
