Anna, the Ugly Duckling, directed by Marek Zákostelecký, is a contemporary version of Andersen's classic fable The Ugly Duckling. The child referred to in the title is a girl who has not even been able to spell her own name for years. She fears school, and perceives letters as dangerous monsters! Her peers call her stupid, sick, abnormal. So how could she become the famous author of books for children everybody loves?
